All things being equal, it’s always the shoemaker’s child that goes without shoes.
It would seem that blogging is a good idea, but actually finding time to sit down and blog is an issue for me. I have to figure out how to add it to my schedule. Perhaps I need to blog first and then check my e-mail. I get so much SPAM and belong to so many yahoo groups and bulletin boards it can eat up several hours reading and responding to all the messages.
Here is an image comp I sent to a T-shirt manufacturer. They declined it as not fitting their needs at this time. I like it though.

I spent most of the week tying up loose ends so I could have a some free time to paint and draw. Trouble with loose ends is that they quickly come unraveled. I did manage to cross off a majority of my to do list. That is something. Of course, all the things I didn’t do still need to be done. They will have to wait.
This coming week I will concentrate on my family and use my new travel watercolor kit. I will also try very hard to chill out before starting in on my new book. (I already have a publisher interested in the manuscript.) Everything is all packed except for car snacks. Woot.

I had planned to add something to this blog on a daily basis. Unfortunatley the world usually has other things in mind when you make plans. Sometime on Saturday night, a bulletin board that I provide as a community service was hacked.
I spent what spare time I had Sunday, trying to block out the hacker and figuring out how to fix the minor damage. I am somewhat programming challenged, so when I finally fixed it, I patted myself on the back and figured that was the end of it. A wasted Sunday was no big deal.
Monday I worked on getting together a couple of logos that needed finalizing, doing bookkeeping and writing a couple of book reviews. (I have yet to get them posted, but that’s for next week) Then I went to look at my BB. The hacker was back and was more invasive than the first time. I deleted the BB software from the site. The I set about recreating the site on a new host, complete with a new, hopefully, hack resistant bulletin board interface. I have pointed the URL to the new DNS, so all I can do now is wait and hope people come back after a week off-line.
Yesterday I spent all day, till 3 PM anyway, updating and compiling my mailing list for a postcard mailing. I got that all done and off to the post office with 5 minutes to spare before closing time! May the offers of work come pourin in!
This evening I heard from my editor. Her words are “You are officially a published author now. How cool is that?”

I started off Thursday like any other day.
That is I booted up my MAC and checked e-mail before having a bowl of cereal.
July has bee a quiet month e-mail wise. All except for the hundreds of SPAM messages I get on an almost hourly basis. So needless to say, once I weeded out the SPAM, I didn’t have much to look at.
Once I checked e-mail and completed my morning ritual of breakfast and grooming, it was time to get down to business. That meant doing the billing and correspondence. I always manage to put this off until all the fun stuff is done, but all things being equal, I’d let it slide as long as possible. The one bit of correspondence that is blog worthy was the letter I sent to the local buyer for Borders Books. I sent her the information about my children’s book An Ordinary Girl, A Magical Child which is being printed by the publisher now and should be ready by mid month in August.
I spent a few hours working on a T-shirt border design in a “unisex” floral. My husband declared it “neat” when I showed him later that evening.
On a personal note, we took the elder son, his girl-friend and the younger daughter to see “Jesus Christ Superstar” at the MUNY last night. I think all of us had fun. Although it is hard to tell with the youngest child. She has gotten so very moody in the last year.
